Master of Social Work (MSW)

This CSWE-accredited clinical Master of Social Work program paves your path to clinical practice and gives you the advanced knowledge and experience you need to fill professional roles that reach more people at a deeper level. Graduates are prepared to handle all aspects of clinical practice for individuals, families, couples, and groups while understanding policy and social services, community development, and administration. If you qualify for the Advanced Standing option, you’ll shorten the length of time it takes to obtain your degree and focus only on the advanced curriculum.

When you attend the online MSW program at The Catholic University of America’s (CUA) National Catholic School of Social Service, you’ll be prepared to:

  • Pass your Licensed Graduate Social Work exam, the first step toward clinical social work licensure
  • Connect personally with faculty mentors who guide you in this path of service and expand your professional network of support
  • Learn alongside peers who hold similar values and come from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

This CCNE-accredited online Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner track prepares you to lead the next generation of primary and secondary care providers. Following graduation, you’ll be eligible to sit for the national Family Nurse Practitioner exams administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program. Successful completion of these exams make you eligible for licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Program highlights include:

Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP)

Designed for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, the CCNE-accredited online DNP program prepares you to take a vital step toward improving overall healthcare delivery. The program is designed to clear your path to advanced and executive roles in today’s evidence-based practice environment, and covers:

  • Emerging issues in healthcare systems
  • Population-based healthcare management
  • Evidence-based care and leadership skills needed to assess the clinical-oriented practice and outcomes of an organization.

You may be able to transfer up to six hours of nursing practitioner credit toward master’s-level courses.

Ph.D. in Nursing (PhDN)

The online Ph.D. in Nursing gives you the research skills to create, implement, and evaluate strategies to achieve optimal care for all. During this nursing Ph.D. program, you’ll develop the skills to function at the highest levels of research, practice, and education. Topics of study include statistics and research in healthcare, bioethics, healthcare policy, and more. The program prepares you to:

  • Develop, apply, and test theories
  • Conduct nursing research to support the development of nursing science
  • Design, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary research programs and policies for the improvement of healthcare
  • Assess the impact of social, political, and ethical issues in healthcare

The program allows you to self-select your research dissertation according to your professional interests. You can transfer in 24 credit hours toward master’s-level courses after successfully passing comprehensive exams.
